Are you one of those people who have tried everything to lose weight? The workouts, the diets, the books, the trainers, you’ve done it all and it’s not giving you any results. Mind over matter, right? Your mind is probably the most powerful tool you will ever find. You must program your mind for success. Train your mind to think that everything is possible. Your weight loss is possible. Tell yourself each day that you can and will do this. Wake up every morning and visualize yourself achieving your goals. The weight loss process is difficult and it is easy to succumb to negative thoughts. We have all been there, when we want to give up and leave everything. NOT! You are in charge and control your thoughts. Whether you say you can or you can’t, you’re right. Don’t be afraid to start this journey. Change is hard and affects us all, you are not alone. You have to work hard if you want to change. You’ll love the change at the end. Tell yourself that something must change, and then believe that you can change it. Imagine the changes, see how much you want them. It may be a big task, but don’t let that discourage you. You can make these changes when you let go of fear.
When you set out to lose fat you must commit. Don’t commit for a couple of days or weeks. You must commit for as long as it takes to achieve your goals. Commit to the fat loss journey and throw away the excuses. If you find a special tax every day not to exercise, not to eat healthy, not to exert yourself, you are NOT committed. You’re in this for the long haul. Find a way to motivate yourself during training, keep the commitment you had on the first day.
Diet is a big part of fat loss. ENORMOUS. Plain and simple, you can’t eat refined, processed, fatty foods and expect to lose weight. Watch what you eat and make the necessary changes, which are probably more than you think. Your body uses the food you eat to repair your body from your time in the gym, you literally become what you eat. Make sure you know how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fat you need for your training plan. Fixing your diet will significantly increase your results.
Losing fat takes time. It does not disintegrate and will never disintegrate while you sleep. Be patient and lots of it. Whenever you feel frustrated, take a step back, review your goal, and motivate yourself to keep going. Try things like monthly measurements or following a diet so you can see small changes. You are more likely to have continued patience if you see the small changes you are making. Also, as difficult as it may be, train yourself to believe that there are changes taking place within your body that you cannot see. When you start exercising, your brain begins to produce more serotonin, your arteries begin to clear, and your heart begins to learn to pump harder. You may not see them, but these are changes nonetheless. Challenge yourself with different workouts or recipes to help keep things interesting, so you can enjoy it more. The more you enjoy it, the more patience you will have and the more likely you are to stick with it.
Make sure you have a constant support system that is there for you as you try to lose fat. Have people there to encourage you and push you. Support can come from anyone, a coach, a training partner, your children, family members. A simple “good job” from someone can convince you to go to the gym that day or eat carrot sticks or potato chips. Find people who excite you about losing weight and achieving your results. You need to support yourself too. Whatever challenge you’re trying to accomplish, you need support, including fat loss.
Fat loss is not easy and thousands of people struggle with it. It’s not as simple as going to the gym once in a while and eating vegetables. You must perfect a program that you can stick to to get results. By doing the things in the paragraphs above, you’ll get yourself in the right mindset to lose that stubborn fat.
