What do you eat with $25~ a week?
Unfortunately I have no money at the moment and my fridge is empty apart from some milk, chicken and broccoli. Or, at least, there is nothing ketogenic about it. I have a lot of rice and beans. I was thinking of going off my low carb diet until I have more money, I just started and haven’t gotten into ketosis but I want to see if I can make it last. I looked in this sub and there were a bunch of shopping lists. But what *meals* can I make with minimal food that will last a week? I’m having trouble figuring out how to make food stretch and stay full. I can eat a lot of eggs, but they aren’t usually high in calories (and I’m a bit concerned about cholesterol, too). Today all I can think of is maybe a meal of 1-3 fried chicken and a bunch of frozen cauliflower + broccoli. However, that will come down to far fewer calories than my 1200-1400 weight loss goal. But a day or two won’t hurt. When I go shopping next week I already know how to buy chicken legs and eggs. I think butter may be too expensive and I don’t have olive oil but I do have corn oil. There were suggestions on other substitutes for foods such as spam, canned green beans, frozen spinach, ground turkey and ground beef. I’m not sure how much of those products I can buy for less than $30.
