I just completed my first 30 days of keto!
Last weekend I hit my 30 day mark doing strict Keto. Because I often skip breakfast and only have one snack during the day, I jumped on my head and started OMAD as well. The first 30 days have been great! I’ve lost 25 pounds and I’m never very hungry. I track my macros using LoseIt and almost always have less than 5g of carbs / day. I have adapted very well to OMAD. So good, in fact, I’m starting a 5 day fast from today. We’ll see how it goes. I plan to supplement my electrolytes while fasting. There has also been a major NSV that I did not anticipate. Before the ketogenic diet, I had a bad case of psoriasis. I call it severe because it was located quite prominently right on my forehead. For a couple of years I have been taking medications and applying creams / rubs. Anything that might help marginally, I tried. It was 50/50 on how it would look each day. Some days it would be horrible, other days not so bad. However, it was never clear. Before starting the ketogenic diet, I actually ran out of psoriasis meds. Seeing as it didn’t seem to help me much, I didn’t bother to fill it out. About 2 weeks after the ketogenic diet, I had a great instinct and began to regret that I stopped taking the drug. Tried to refill it, but couldn’t reach my doctor before the weekend. Fast forward a few days and my psoriasis just … disappeared. Some days will come and go a couple of hits, but still. My skin is lighter than it has been in years. I can’t think of any other explanation other than keto. This sub has been a great asset in allowing me to stay on course. I have learned a lot by reading the FAQs and looking for answers to my questions that others have already asked me. I hope we all reach our goal weight and live happy, healthy lives!
