Today marks 3 full months of keto; I am F / 52, blind and have lost 24 pounds. I need to lose as much weight as I can for the foot surgery, at the end of June. Me and my kettlebell are killing it!
I have been doing keto for 3 months straight and have lost 24 pounds. I am 52 years old, I am postmenopausal and have been sedentary for the last 2 years due to invasive foot surgery in year 1 and Covid in year 2. I am also blind and cannot drive, of course, so I am at home all the day, boring and away from the field. There are no neighbors, unless you consider the pines and cows as neighbors. There are no shops, no buses, nowhere to go, nothing to do except stay in the air conditioning and eat. So I will have more surgery on my other foot at the end of June and I realized that I needed to lose weight for this year’s recovery that I am facing. Also, because my health is not good. I need to lose weight. I need to get fit. I need to control myself. So I did that. I started, and now it’s been 3 months. I also bought a 12 pound kettlebell and have been doing 9 different exercises every day with it, and this is week # 8. I was only able to do 10 reps of each exercise on the first day, but I did them every day, I kept a detailed logging and now I can do some of them 80 to 90 times a day, AND now I can do TWO HUNDRED FREAKIN SQUATS A DAY. also! I haven’t had a single cheat day or cheat meal. (I really hate when people call it that, but you know what I mean.) I’m not doing macros because I can’t see the damn nutrition facts panel at all, or my digital scale, but I know what I’m doing, like I did keto a decade ago and was very successful then. My point is that I am older now. I am 5 decades old, plus a little. I’m postmenopausal, and yes ladies, apparently that DOES make a big difference! Your body slows down. You KNOW that your clothes no longer fit you, but you don’t really notice the weight that is accumulating on you. Especially if you are visually impaired like me and you never see yourself in a mirror! DON’T WAIT until I’m older! Get started today! Right now! Next meal! No more excuses. If a blind, sedentary 52-year-old woman can move and stick with the program, so can you! It will only get harder later in life. For all. Take care of your shit NOW. Stop putting it off! I’m on a time limit here, I have 5 more weeks to lose everything I can to surgery. I am older, overweight, and afraid to undergo anesthesia. I never had a problem with that in the past, but my blood pressure is high, my weight is high, my anxiety is high. But I AM DOING this! VICTORIOUS!
