Constant progress and daily discipline

I am in the beginning of the third week of getting back to normal. My movement on and off that track in recent years has been erratic. I’m going to write a longer post documenting that experience and what I’ve learned, but for now: I’ve been practicing OMAD (one meal a day) and an almost carnivorous way of eating since February 1st. My weight loss so far has been: Feb 1 – 215. 2 Feb 8 – 206.2 Feb 15 203.4 The first week I had clearly lost a lot of water weight. It is the difference between 8 and 15 that initially disappointed me, but further reflection motivates me a lot. One can only lose weight so fast. I was expecting to have less than 200 (an arbitrary but significant milestone) by the 15th. This was unrealistic. Somewhere around 2.5-3.5 pounds lost a week. That is realistic. That is what I achieved in the last week. That is constant progress. I’ve never been in good shape. I never had abbs. I never really felt comfortable in my skin. I want these things. And unfortunately, I want them now. It’s so easy to give in to despair. Go back to old habits. Give up what I want. That is why I commit myself every morning with conviction to achieve what I want in life. It takes daily, hourly, momentary discipline. I write partly for catharsis and partly to help others on this journey. I’ll end this: sacrifice fleeting pleasure in now for the future you want. Commit daily. Stay the course.
