I don't want to do this ... so I MUST do this

Yesterday I felt like shit. My dream this week has been less than stellar, and I have needed it more than ever since starting a very structured training regimen. Before my lunchtime hike, I mentally kept trying to make excuses for why I shouldn’t go for a walk. Then about 10 minutes before lunch, I had a breakthrough. I mentally said to myself “I don’t want to do this …”, and immediately a stronger part of me added mentally “… so I must do this”. What a breakthrough! My performance on that hike was pretty bad, but I did it. I don’t know where that strength came from, but I’m thankful for it. & # x200B; So this has become my new mantra. “I don’t want to do this, so I must do this.”
