Keto Questions
Hi everyone, so I’ve been doing IF and low carb for a while. Recently, I had an epiphany to try Keto and holy hell, it’s really easy as hell for me, other than my weekend 10 inch chicken / mozz sandwiches / roasted peppers that I get from my Italian deli … But apart from losing the bread, I am a vegetable lover and the transition has not been bad at all. I have some basic questions that I can’t seem to find answers in my research. – I have 6’8 230ish LBS, 20-25% body fat. I have read that I have less than 30-50 g of carbohydrates per day to enter keto. Considering my size, can I stretch it a little more? Also, I have also read that less than 10% carbohydrates is what I should be taking instead of an arbitrary total of 30g … So if my macros are 60/30/10 but I have had more than 50 grams of carbohydrates, Am I still in ketosis? – I recently did a 72 hour water / coffee / tea cleaning. I have the impression that after fasting my body is in a ketogenic state. My question is how fast does a body enter the keto on average? If I had to eat a LITTLE above the standard threshold of 50 g of carbohydrates today than fasting for 16 hours, would my body probably be back in Keto considering I was barely done for a single day + I was on keto on days prior to that? Plus, the ease with which the body returns to keto after a light carbohydrate day. I would like to add that almost ALL of my carbohydrates come from vegetables / fruits (I’m not sure if that changes anything regarding the daily carbohydrate intake goals). I am having trouble reaching my fat macros. I use olive oil in everything, one avocado a day, eggs every day, + like a lot of almonds, but I’m still missing. How much am I hurting myself if I finish 60/30/10 or 50/40/10 for my divisions every day? That is what I have been the last two days. – As a former college athlete, I was always taught to eat immediately after training. If I am in the ketogenic state and I do 16/8 IF every day … I have read that I must wait 2 hours after a workout before breaking the fast. Is it more effective to keep my body fasting AFTER a workout or should I time it to break my fast immediately after training? I appreciate the help !!
