Goat milk is good for you!
Would you believe it? Smelly goat dairy products are now a favorite in the western world. Sales of butter derived from goat milk have increased by 31%, milk by 28%, yogurt by 23%, cheese by 16%, according to a report published in Western mail (Cardiff, Wales), recently. Retail analysts Taylor Nelson Sofres say the UK’s total goat dairy market grew by 16% in the past 12 months and was worth £ 32.3m in October this year. And why not, when people gradually begin to realize that goat’s milk is lower in fat and much easier to digest than cow’s milk (microscopic studies have shown that the average fat globule size in goat’s milk is only about 1/3 of that present in cow’s milk), therefore it is extremely healthy for both young and old, but especially for those who are allergic to cow’s milk. Interestingly, among all animal milks suitable for human consumption, only cow and goat milk have been found to be nutritionally close to human milk. In fact, the protein in goat’s milk forms a smaller, finer curd and has more than twice the typical amount of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) found in cow’s milk. In some studies, it has been found to cure eczema in children.
Goat’s milk also has a higher concentration of epidermal growth factor (EGF), a natural ingredient in breast milk that is very essential for intestinal and cellular development and recovery. Swedish studies have shown that cow’s milk was a major cause of colic in formula-fed infants 12-30% younger than three months. In other babies, the incidence was approximately 20%. The Chinese Medical Encyclopedia maintains that goat milk is good for the lungs, stomach, and intestines. Western clinical studies have also correlated these benefits with the high concentration of EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor). Meanwhile, an enzyme known as Platelet Accelerating Factor Acetyl Hydrolase, which can break down the allergen, has also been isolated from goat’s milk, during research.
Goat’s milk also comes loaded with natural bioactive factors such as nucleotides; taurine and polyamine, which help strengthen the immune system. The absorption of calcium, iron, copper and zinc is also higher in goats than in cows and offers a natural immunity against cough, phlegm and indigestion. Research indicates that asthma in children asthma improves after a few months of taking it. Unlike multivitamin tablets, which should only be taken 1 to 2 tablets a day, a child can safely take up to 10 Karihome goat’s milk candies at a time, one to three times a day. There can be no better nutritional supplement for picky eaters.
