My back pain is gone.

I used to have a horrible backache. It developed just when I had my children. It felt like I was pricked with a crochet hook in the middle of the lower back and it was debilitating: I couldn’t do any physical activity without sitting down to relieve the pressure of my back pain. I’ve been fat all my life and this certainly didn’t help, so my weight increased. And I’m 42 years old and I have small children and a very active husband. I was trying hard to keep up with them, but it was agonizing. I played with over-the-counter pain relievers, but they were temporary at best, and I didn’t want to try anything stronger until I exhausted all other options.

I read somewhere that sugar can have an inflammatory effect on the body that can cause joint pain. I am / was a drug addict, but I was also despairing. I started recording my consumption with MyFitnessPal to be more aware of what I eat, and as an experiment, I spent two days without sugar. It is not completely free of carbohydrates, but I made sure that my fat and protein intake was a higher percentage of my overall caloric intake, and that my overall carbohydrate intake was lower and that carbohydrates were an incidental intake (of vegetables or the very occasional fruit). that a primary source I also added MCT oil to my morning coffee, which helped fight hunger and sugar cravings. To combat the symptoms of the keto flu, I prepared beef broth or chicken for breakfast, adding a little vegetable broth to complete the flavor.

… and my back pain disappeared completely. The following week was a series of experiments to perform various activities without my usual pain medication. And it’s gone. There is no more back pain. It not only goes down to a manageable level. He hasn’t left for a couple of hours a day, I mean he’s completely IDA. It feels like my back for twenty years.

A month has passed. I have maintained my caloric intake at 2000 kcal / day or less, and I avoid all simple sugars. I lost 25 pounds (weight loss is not the focus, but it is certainly welcome), and I have returned to exercise. I am very excited. I feel that I have regained my life!

If you’ve seen the movie Casino, do you remember the cornfield scene, where a character sneaks up on Joe Pesci’s character and starts hitting him with a baseball bat? That’s what I imagine when I want that cookie or that brownie. Because I will not return to that pain again.
